Will Utah get a White Christmas?

SALT LAKE CITY — Those dreams of a white Christmas might not be just a dream. KSL Meteorologist Grant Weyman says that though Christmas Eve might start with some rain, it’s likely to turn into snow overnight and into Christmas Day.
The National Weather Service says that a series of storm systems that begin Tuesday morning is likely to leave some accumulation by Christmas Afternoon.

“Most of us should see between 1-4 inches of snow by Christmas afternoon and if you live on the benches you’ll get a little bit more, between about 3-5 inches,” Grant says.
Skiiers and snowboarders can also look forward to what could be a powder day at Utah’s ski resorts with the accumulation expected to be anywhere from 6-10 inches.

Grant says that we can expect temperatures to be in the high 30s on Christmas and a colder weekend with temperatures expecting to stay in the mid 30s across the Wasatch Front.
