After 25 years on daytime television, Judy Sheindlin says that Judge Judy will be ending.

According to CBS News, the syndicated court show host announced that she would be leaving the show during an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show due to air on Monday, March 2.

Sheindlin says even though she will be leaving CBS and Judge Judy will be ending, she’s not ready to hang up the gavel yet.

“I’ve had a 25-year-long marriage with CBS and it’s been successful,” she says. “Next year will be our 25th season, silver anniversary, and CBS, I think felt they wanted to optimally utilize the repeats of my program. Because now they have 25 years of reruns. So, what they decided to do was to sell a couple of years’ worth of reruns. But I’m not tired, so ‘Judy Justice’ will be coming out a year later.”

Sheindlin is the highest-paid personality on TV with a yearly reported earning of $47 million a year. Hollywood Reporter also reports that CBS acquired the 5,200-hour library of Judge Judy for close to $100 million.

Judge Judy aired for the first time in 1996 and won a number of Emmy Awards along with the Daytime Emmys Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019.
