Young boy injured after being hit by a car Monday evening

WASHINGTON, Utah — A young boy was injured Monday evening after he was by a car in a Washington City neighborhood.

Washington City Police Chief Jason Williams told St. George News that the boy was riding on a scooter on Treasure Valley Road when he was hit by a gray Nissan Sedan as it turned right off of 435 East. 

Emergency personnel also say that when they arrived on scene, the boy was in the road. The vehicle had stopped less than 100 feet away. 

Williams also told St. George News that the boy was breathing and conscious at the scene of the incident. However, paramedics rapidly treated him and then rushed him to an area hospital. Williams said with how fast the paramedics treated him, there were likely some serious injuries.

The parents of the boy were able arrived in time to ride with him to the hospital, the St. George News also reported.

According to police, occupant of the Nissan is cooperating with their investigation.
