WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — West Valley City Police announced Monday the arrest of a 39-year-old woman in connection to a weekend shooting and stabbing incident at a residence in West Valley City.

Stabbing in West Valley City

Police say that Terica Savas-Caldwell has been taken into custody in connection to the weekend events that left two men injured. Police say that Savas-Caldwell has been booked into jail for investigation of a felony discharge of a firearm with serious body injury.

According to police, the events leading up to the incident as well as the relationship between the three individuals involved is still being investigated.

On Saturday, police were called to the 4400 block of Trinity Avenue. When police arrived, they discovered a 48-year-old male with a gunshot wound laying in the front of the residence. Inside the resident, police found a 32-year-old man who authorities say appeared to have been stabbed.

Both men were transported to an area hospital where they are listed in critical, but stable condition, according to police.

A second incident

West Valley City Police are also seeking information on a suspect in connection to a separate stabbing on Saturday evening.

Police say this incident occurred at Aspenwood Apartments at 4178 South 4000 West at 8:15 p.m.

When police arrived on scene, they noticed 59-year-old Willie Houston had been stabbed. Houston was transported to an area hospital, but later passed away from his injuries.

Anyone who may have information on this case is asked to call 801-840-4000.
