DRAPER, Utah — A Draper police officer responded Sunday to a man allegedly threatening to blow up a Harmons.

The officer was dispatched to the store, located at 672 E. 11400 S. after Draper Police Department received reports that a man had made threats to blow it up.

A Salt Lake County Affidavit of Probable Cause identifies the man as Justin Dredge.

According to the affidavit, Harmons employees pointed out Dredge to the officer upon their arrival at the scene.

“Upon approach with Justin, he was agitated and non-compliant with the officer’s initial commands of showing his hands,” the officer stated in the affidavit. “Justin pointed to the back of his sweatshirt, began to yell, and was saying that he was a white supremacist.”

The officer said Dredge had been using racial slurs and telling store employees that he was a white supremacist.

“[The] victim said that Justin asked her for a cigarette and when she said no, Justin said that he was a white supremacist and he was going to start blowing things up tonight, starting with the Harmons because he could not get a job… she was scared for herself and her co-workers,” the officer said.

The officer said Dredge resisted arrest, folding his arms in front of him, and refusing to put them behind his back.

He is facing charges of making threats of terrorism, interfering with an officer, and disorderly conduct.
