Average for gasoline in Utah rises to five dollars a gallon

SALT LAKE CITY — The average price for regular gasoline in Utah is now a little more than $5 a gallon.
Triple A Utah reports that the state’s average of $5.005 on June 9 was a little higher than the national average of $4.970 per gallon.
Gas stations in Rich, Beaver, Piute, Garfield, Kane, and Washington counties are charging the most for gasoline in Utah according to Triple-A.
Utahns in Daggett, Uintah, Emery, Sanpete, and Sevier counties are paying the least for a gallon of gasoline.
The cost of gasoline is reflecting the cost of a barrel of oil, which is close to $120. Triple A reports that amount is nearly double the cost for a barrel of oil in August 2021.
It’s also reflecting demand, specifically around Memorial Day which is traditionally a traveling weekend in America.
