Smithfield asks residents to stop using outdoor water

SMITHFIELD, Utah — Smithfield City is calling on all its residents to stop outdoor watering.

Smithfield City said that one of its culinary water wells suffered a mechanical failure of some kind.

In an update on Facebook, the city said the restriction would be in place until Oct. 14 at least. But that could change depending on the supplies and/or shipping.

The city asked its residents to comply with the new water restrictions to make sure they have enough water for indoor use.

The city said it’ll keep people updated on the timeline of the repairs.
