UHP urging drivers to be prepared for winter conditions as storm hits Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — A winter storm is moving through Utah, and the Utah Highway Patrol is reminding people to be mindful while driving.
The UHP said they are ready to deal with any weather situations that might show up during the day.
Trooper Kelley Jensen said drivers can do their part by making sure their vehicles are equipped for the weather, including having good tread on their tires and slowing when roads are slick.
“We have more troopers out, just trying to make sure we have enough bodies out there to respond to the calls that could come into inclement weather,” said Jensen.
Monday morning impacts
According to the National Weather Service, Weber and Davis County should be prepared for a snowy commute.

Dugway schools posted on their Facebook page last night schools will be on a 2 hour delay because of the possibility of drifting snow.
UDOT posted on Twitter that Little Cottonwood Canyon will be close for avalanche mitigation until 8 a.m.
