Body of South Jordan teen paddleboarder found in Sand Hollow Reservoir

HURRICANE, Utah — Crews have recovered the body of a 15-year-old boy who fell into the water while paddleboarding at Sand Hollow State Park on Thursday, and never resurfaced.
Utah State Parks representative Devan Chavez confirmed they received an emergency call around 10 a.m. The teen, identified as Landon Crook from South Jordan, was last seen on South Beach at the south end of Sand Hollow State Park.

Search and rescue crews from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office worked along with State Parks officials to find Crook. His body was found Thursday around noon in 25 feet of water with a surface temperature of 80 degrees.
Officials said Crook was not wearing a life jacket. It is unknown whether a life jacket was on the paddleboard.
