OGDEN, Utah — Two teenage boys, with the assistance of a neighbor, were able to escape from a two-story house fire on Friday morning.

According to the Ogden Fire Department, crews were called out to a structure fire in the area of the 500 block and 6th Street at 11:17 a.m.

Once on scene, fire crews searched the home to ensure nobody else was inside. One dog was safely rescued from the fire. Unfortunately, four other dogs died in the blaze.

According to a news release from Ogden Fire, eight occupants have been displaced by the fire and are receiving assistance from the Red Cross.

One firefighter was treated for a minor sprain on scene.

Emergency personnel from Ogden Fire and North View Fire responded to the incident. In all, 17 firefighters helped put out the fire.

Officials say the estimated damage from the fire is $400,000.

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, Ogden Fire says it’s possible that a propane tank explosion could be the soure of the blaze.
