TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — Not only is a new park coming to the city of Taylorsville, but also improvements to an existing park at the heart of the community.

Plans to enhance amenities and make improvements to Taylorsville Park have been approved, according to a Facebook post from Taylorsville City Hall.

In addition to the revamp, a new park located on a 16-acre space is already underway.

Located next to two water tanks at the northwest corner of 6200 S. 3200 W, the new park’s first amenity under construction is four pickleball courts. The Taylorsville website says Phase I, beginning soon, will add a play area, restrooms, parking and possibly a pavilion.

As for the existing park, improvements include a play area, a new restroom, a trailhead, new basketball courts and a skatepark.

In January 2024, city officials plan to put out a bid for further construction on both parks. The construction would take around a year and begin in March 2024.

Funding from Salt Lake County’s Tourism, Recreation, Culture, and Convention program, with matching funds from the city, makes the Taylorsville Park project possible.

The new park’s funding comes from the Redevelopment Agency of SLC.
