SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City is getting ready for an International Olympic Committee visit. This is ahead of possibly hosting the 2034 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. The trip will start on April 10 and last through April 13, 2024.

“The business community is wholeheartedly in support of hosting the 2034 Winter Games,” said Derek Miller, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber and Downtown Alliance, “and this is a great way to demonstrate that resolve, with Utah’s world-class venues, vibrant economy, and renowned hospitality, we are confident in our ability to provide a memorable and seamless experience for athletes, spectators, and stakeholders from around the globe.”

The IOC delegates will discuss the state’s readiness to host the games, including infrastructure and logistics.

Utah has well-known venues, a vibrant economy, and renowned hospitality. Local authorities and businesses are confident in their ability to provide a memorable experience for athletes, viewers, and visitors from across the globe.

The Utah Transit Authority is taking an active part in the preparations for the upcoming Games. It aims to demonstrate its readiness to provide transportation services for both the locals and visitors during the event. The special TRAX cars in the city will display “Ready to Move the World Again” images until the 24th of July. Then the announcement for the Olympic bid will be made.

The IOC plans to visit Rice-Eccles Stadium, Eccles Theater, Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Park City Mountain, Soldier Hollow in Midway, Snowbasin in Huntsville, and the Olympic Oval in Kearns.
