“Mrs. Shaw is an incredible teacher. Not only is she patient and kind, but she is actively engaged in ensuring each child’s success. I have loved watching my son blossom during his time in her class this year. He is excited about going to school, about learning new things, about sharing the new French words he’s learned from his teacher, and even when he can correct me with something he recently learned in her class! Although strict, her students love and respect her, and I appreciate her desire and willingness to go above and beyond to push students to do their best, even when they are discouraged or struggling. She regularly stays late after school to tutor struggling students, and welcomes the involvement of parents in classroom activities or at-home learning. As she prepares them for junior high and the rigors of advanced learning, she provides a variety of opportunities for critical thinking, in addition to a customized path for individual learning. My son regularly talks about his wonderful teacher at home, and I know she will be one, if not the only, memorable teachers that he will remember throughout his life because of the impact she has made during this critical time in his development.”
