Murray hit-and-run leaves scooter-rider hospitalized, police asking for help

MURRAY — A man operating an electric scooter was hit by a car Tuesday in the intersection of 4500 South and State Street in Murray.
According to the Murray Police Department, the male scooter rider was traveling northbound when the driver of a white passenger SUV hit him.
Police said the SUV driver left the scene, fleeing eastbound on 4500 South. This was around 11:38 a.m. on Tuesday.
Hit-and-run victim hospitalized
The electric scooter operator was taken to a hospital with a serious injury and remains in critical condition.

Murray investigators have released the following photo of the SUV. They are asking the public for help identifying the driver or the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
The photo was provided by a business close to the site of the hit-and-run. Murray police believe the vehicle, which is a smaller SUV, will have damage to the front driver’s side.
