Codee Flores, South Valley School (Jordan District)

“I am nominating Codee Flores. She is the kind of teacher that you would want your 18-22 year old students to experience. She loves her kids! That is evident in the things that she is continually teaching them. Codee teaches at South Valley School, which is a school for students who move on after high school, to learn life skills. The students learn job skills (they have multiple job sites), they learn how to show respect to others, they learn to navigate the UTA experience. They are very well known for their soda shop (which they have served drinks to over 200 people at one time). They go to nursing homes to share their drinks and their notes of kindness to the residents. I can’t keep up with all the things that she does with and for her students, everyday of the school year. After graduating from South Valley School, she is receiving text and phone calls from students who have gone on in life, using the skills that her class taught them the 4 years they were there. She was nominated as Teacher of the Year (2024), in Jordan School District, because of her dedication to her craft…teaching. Codee Flores is the BEST!”
