Man killed in police shooting after he threatened woman with gun, police say

FARMINGTON — One man is dead after he was shot by police overnight on Monday, after police said he was threatening a woman with a gun.
At approximately 1:55 a.m., Farmington police received a call about a domestic disturbance in the area of Lupine Way and Foxglove Road. It was reported that a man was threatening a woman by holding a pistol to her head.
Police arrived and found the man and woman outside of a residence. After giving the man multiple commands to drop the gun, he refused.
A responding officer fired his weapon at the man. Emergency medical personnel were contacted and, when they arrived, pronounced him deceased.
The investigation is ongoing.
