BLUFFDALE — Multiple fire agencies responded to a large garage fire early Monday morning in Bluffdale near 3300 West and 14600 South.
According to the Bluffdale Fire Department, the fire was reported just before 3:30 a.m. On arrival, heavy smoke and flames could be seen.
Fire extended into the attic of the home and living area, elevating the scene to a second alarm response. Within 25 minutes of the response, the roof collapsed.
“In the garage, people store a lot of combustibles, whether it’s gas, paint, those kinds of things,” said Bluffdale Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Bruderer. “This home here, had quite a bit of gas in there, mixed gases, just regular gases and some propane cylinders.”
Several agencies, including Unified Fire Authority, Draper, and South Jordan responded.
No injuries were reported however, the residents have been displaced. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
