Grass fire ignites near Ensign Peak

SALT LAKE CITY — A grass fire broke out near Ensign Peak on the afternoon of July 2.

Salt Lake City Fire Department is asking people to avoid the area. No evacuations are currently in place.

Shortly after KSL NewsRadio reported the fire, SLCFD said they have the fire under control in a post on X.

The fire is under control. Crews will remain on scene, mopping up for the next hour. Media staging at Ensign Vista and Churchill drive.
