“I would like to nominate Shannon Saltzsieder for her extraordinary dedication and commitment as a 2nd-grade teacher at Sprucewood Elementary. Shannon goes above and beyond to ensure that learning is meaningful, engaging, and accessible for every student. She makes complex concepts real and within reach, tailoring her approach so that each child can thrive.
Shannon is also a tireless advocate for her students and their families, ensuring they have the information, resources, and support needed to succeed. As a parent of a daughter who is new to the school this year, I have been especially grateful for Shannon’s care and attention. From the very beginning, she made a point to ensure my daughter felt seen, valued, and included in the classroom community.
Before even meeting her students, Shannon sent out a thoughtful questionnaire to get to know each child personally. At the school’s “Meet the Teacher” night, we were delighted to see books displayed that highlighted each student’s individual interests, demonstrating her dedication to connecting with her students as unique individuals.
Shannon’s passion, thoughtfulness, and unwavering commitment make a lasting impact on her students and their families. She truly exemplifies what it means to be an outstanding educator, and I cannot think of a more deserving nominee.”
