“I nominate Tricia Allen a teacher at Tooele Jr. High. Tric is a mom of 3 living children, and one deceased. I’m her mom i have watched her bloom and grow through great challenges.

Tric attended UVU and University of Utah, she married, served mentally challenged youth in her effort acquiring her degree. She was always teaching her family (us) how to kindly treat others.

Tric became a mother, tended children in her home while completing a degree at USU extention. She did not just tend. She made every day a day of learning for those little ones, loving than as her own. Taking them on little excursions for their level of activity at the park, playground, experiencing new things and learning to be kind, take turns and share, learn and grow. They were able to get treats occasionally at McDonalds. Their experience was wonderful. I know i was there sometimes. Her dad and I marveled at her love for these children.

With her degree she taught elementary, moving up to Jr. High with her own children.

Tric cares for these youth. She is now a health PE teacher! She is amazing! She takes youth on hikes to give a break from school, there are times and rewards for a ski day…Tric was not a lover of skiing as an activity nor of hiking. She has worked at it!

She has taught aerobics at a Gym, teaching others to care for their health. Now that is passed on to her students!

She teaches dance…too! Tric didn’t dance in her youth either. She spends time on her own learning technique, terms and dance steps and stretches. She Composes dance routines. As a mother i see and hear these things and my jaw drops!

She is incredible and valuable for all youth all ages. She gets out with them enjoying playing games, learning about sports together, participating and enjoying their success.
She has been the advisor for cross country for years, traveling with the team and enjoying everything they do and accomplish.

Tric is a friend, she is a serious teacher and expects participation, and wants them to be successful in life oursuits She teaches discipline.

She teaches students about being a good citizen honoring those in the community on Veterans Day and other holidays. Always teaching youth as she does these extra things.

Tric wants students to succeed and find happiness in living healthfully.

I have watched her around students, they like her, she talks and jokes with them. She is their respected friend…if only all of us could be like Tricia Allen!

She doesn’t just do this at school, she does it in the youth programs in her church and just in the neighborhood.

As her mom i would like to do more to honor her. I can do this.

I should mention she comes by teaching naturally. Her father, her daughter, her sister all are teachers and know how diligently Tricia works at being the best teacher she can be for all youth!

Tricia deserves this recognition for her great service to youth in our community”
