“Ms. Atkinson is an amazing 3rd grade teacher, with a special gift on connecting with all student, but especially students with special needs and/or difficult home lives. This is because she she wears her feeling on her sleeve, so all of her students know that she authentically loves and cares about them. The impact of Ms. Atkinson’s deep empathy is evident in her students academic and emotion growth through out the years! In a title 1 school, Ms. Atkinson’s students frequently surpass district averages. But, more importantly, her students share the love and empathy poured into them with peers and other school staff. Ms. Atkinson is fantastic and deserves this kind of recognition.”
