“Mr. Wagner is a 6th‑grade teacher at Boulton Elementary, and Nikol, who just moved to the area, is one of his students. Nikol was born with a serious health condition and underwent at least one surgery as a baby. Shortly after this school year began, his health worsened, and doctors informed his mother that he urgently needs a liver transplant.
Amanda, Nikol’s mom, was deeply moved when, just one day after she shared an update with Mr. Wagner, he reached out to tell her that he is a universal donor. He had already talked with his wife, done research, and told Amanda, he would be willing to donate part of his liver to help his new student.
Although further testing unfortunately showed that he cannot be the donor, Amanda wants the world to know how incredibly kind and selfless he is. Nikol is still preparing for his transplant, and his mother will now be the donor. Surgery is schedule for Feb 10th, Amanda would love to honor Mr. Wagner by sharing this positive and uplifting story.”
