“I am writing to enthusiastically nominate Michele Law, a Reading and Multi-lingual (ML) teacher at Eastmont Middle School, for the KSL Teacher Feature. Michele is the kind of educator who doesn’t just teach a curriculum; she builds a bridge to success for every student who enters her classroom.
A Dedicated Advocate for Multi-lingual Learners
Michele serves a diverse population of students, many of whom are navigating the complexities of learning a new language while keeping up with middle school academics. She is a fierce advocate for these students, ensuring they have a voice within the school. Beyond advocacy, she has meticulously organized classroom structures specifically designed to empower multi-lingual learners, giving them the stability and tools they need to thrive.
Innovation in the Classroom
Her lesson planning is both thoughtful and intentional. Michele doesn’t rely on “cookie-cutter” assignments; instead, she integrates Project-Based Learning (PBL) into her literacy classes.
