One person dead after fiery Eagle Mountain crash

SALT LAKE CITY — One person is dead after a serious crash in Eagle Mountain Wednesday afternoon.

The Utah County Sheriff’s Office posted to Facebook that the crash occurred around 6384 North at 3:30 p.m. It involved an SUV and a passenger car.

According to the sheriff’s office, the crash caused the passenger car to catch on fire. A deputy with the sheriff’s office pulled the driver of the passenger car from the flames, however, they died on the scene.

Both a passenger and the driver of the SUV were injured in the crash. They were sent to a local hospital for treatment.

The sheriff’s office is currently investigating the incident and is in the process of notifying the family of the driver who passed away.
