Police investigating after man hit, killed in West Jordan

WEST JORDAN — A 38-year-old man was hit and killed by a vehicle Sunday evening.
According to police, Darwin Cantarero Zuniga died on the way to the hospital after getting hit near 8500 S. 4000 West around 7:40 p.m. Sunday.
West Jordan Police Sgt. Adam Julian told KSL the driver reported seeing something in the road and tried to swerve but ended up hitting the man.
The driver, who stopped and cooperated with investigators, showed no signs of impairment, Julian said.
Investigators were still trying to figure out the exact circumstances of the crash, police said.
