Motorcyclist killed after crash in West Valley City

SALT LAKE CITY — A motorcyclist was killed Saturday in a crash involving multiple vehicles in West Valley City.

According to Utah Highway Patrol Corporal Jared Heywood, a motorcycle and SUV crashed at approximately 12:50 p.m. on eastbound state Route 201, near 3000 West in West Valley City.

Heywood said the motorcyclist was hospitalized and later pronounced dead.

At the time of publication, officials were diverting traffic to Bangerter Highway to allow for a continuing investigation. SR 201 will remain closed in the area for approximately two hours.
