SALT LAKE CITY — June 1 marked the beginning of Pride Month and Utah officials and organizations took to social media to recognize the month.

Utah officials

Gov. Spencer Cox declared June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month, saying ” In Utah, we strive to sustain a culture of hope, love, understanding, and respect by celebrating our common humanity.”

Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall raised a Pride flag at the Salt Lake City & County Building Wednesday.

Salt Lake City is set to host the Utah Pride Festival from June 4 to June 5. The Utah Pride Center will also host events through June 5 for Pride Week.
