Update: Arrest made in connection with Sandy sidewalk shooting

SANDY, Utah — Police arrested 18-year-old Tyson Conner Rocco in connection with the shooting that happened Friday afternoon when two boys were shot on a sidewalk in Sandy.
Police arrested Rocco Saturday evening and booked him on multiple charges including attempted aggravated homicide.

Police are investigating a shooting on a Sandy sidewalk that left two boys in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Sandy Police said in a tweet that the shooting happened near the area of 200 East and 8800 South.

Later, the Sandy police confirmed the two boys are 12 and 14 years old and were not from the area.
Police said that the boys were walking on the sidewalk in Sandy when a white car pulled up. Then, someone inside the vehicle started shooting at the kids.
An investigation is still underway; it is still not clear whether or not the boys have any connection to the vehicle.
