Utah Fire Info says the Halfway Hill Fire is now 7,958 acres.

At this time, the Virginia Hills subdivision is still under an evacuation order, but fire managers and the Millard County Sheriff are working to have residents return to their homes as soon as possible.

Update: July 10, 2022 1:06 p.m.

Four suspects have been arrested in connection to the Halfway Hill Fire. Investigations into the fire’s origin led to a confirmation that the fire originated from a campsite.

Further investigation led to the four suspects being identified and contacted. They admitted to recreating in the area, unintentionally starting the fire, and then leaving the site after attempting to extinguish the flames.

The group also admitted to being concerned that the Halfway Hill Fire was a result of their campfire. None of the four individuals called fire or law enforcement prior to the investigation.

Update: July 8, 2022 9:36 p.m.

According to Utah Fire Info, air resources are working to slow the spread of the Halfway Hill Fire. Due to red flag conditions and limited accessibility, air resources have played a significant part in suppressing the fire. The fire is currently at 425 acres. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Resources for the Dry Creek Fire includes 15 area fire departments, according to Utah Fire Info. Additionally, three helicopters are also assisting in this blaze. 

Utah Fire Info says additional resources are on the way to this fire, which stands at 1,200 acres.

MILLARD COUNTY, Utah — UPDATE: Evacuations have been ordered for the Virginia Hills Subdivision near Fillmore.

According to Utah Fire Info, the Millard County Sheriff’s Office issued an evacuation order for the Virginia Hills subdivision, just southeast of Fillmore.

Dry Creek Fire in Oak City Canyon

The Dry Creek Fire started east of Oak City, Utah, according to Utah Fire info.

Utah Fire Info says the blaze is growing rapidly, estimated to be 100-plus acres.

Kayli Yardley with Utah Fire Info says an evacuation order has been issued for campsites in the area. No homes have been evacuated at this time.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but is believed to be human-caused.

Halfway Hill Fire in Fillmore

According to Utah Fire Info, the Halfway Hill Fire is located southeast of Fillmore.

The fire is estimated to be burning 30-plus acres.

Fire personnel is on the scene. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
