Artemis Bredthauer, 7, listens to actors speak on the "Lord of the Rings" panel at FanX at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025.
With a lineup including actors like David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Ke Huy Quan and William Shatner, fans are excited. But the celebrities may be just as excited to meet their fans and just as star-stuck.
KSL NewsRadio’s Heather Kelly talked with actor and film producer Henry Winkler about his time so far at FanX.

“This is so lovely. We get to meet the people who watch us, and I’m here having the best time,” he said.
Winkler’s latest children’s book is coming out at the end of the month, “Detective Duck, Volume 3,” and he’s so grateful for all the fans.
“It is so wonderful to finally meet the people who watch what you do,” Winkler said. “Otherwise, I would never get to meet them. You know, traveling around the country, around the world. It is a gift.”
“We don’t normally get to hang out with other actors, unless you’re working on a project. And there are a lot of actors that I haven’t gotten to work with yet. So doing these types of comic conventions, these cons, I get to actually get to hang out with actors and get to talk to them,” said Yarborough. “I just got to hang out with Henry Winkler last night. We talked about his career, how lovely he is. He’s fantastic gentleman, and it’s just really nice to just kind of get to know the man.
Chris Bartlett, the man behind C3PO and various other droids in “Star Wars” media for the past 20 years, said he owes his career to conventions like FanX.
Bartlett has always been a big fan of Star Wars and would come to conventions in costumes he would build himself and use voices he would practice. After six years, Lucasfilm noticed him and asked him to come in for an audition.
Next thing Bartlett knew, he was being flown out to Australia for a commercial. And eventually he got to know the original C3PO.
“Anthony Daniels, and I have worked on several projects together, and he helped me a little bit with a voice,” Bartlett said. “I did a lot of homework on my end, but also helped me understand the movement a little bit more. And he’s been lovely to me.”
Bartlett’s fandom means so much to him.
“I love the characters. I love the stories. And they were such a big part of my life,” he said. “I have so much nostalgia feelings about them, but also (get) to see some of these in real life.”
