LEHI, Utah — Actor Kevin Bacon is very familiar with the Lehi Roller Mills. Anyone who’s seen ‘Footloose’ knows that. But now he’s coming back.
Lehi City announced that its Lehi Round-Up celebration this June will feature none other than The Bacon Brothers. The celebration takes place June 24-29 and the band will perform at the Monday Night Concert.
The band is made up of Kevin Bacon and, as the name suggests, his brother Michael Bacon.
The brothers will visit Lehi as ‘Footloose’ celebrates its 40th anniversary. The movie came out in February of 1984.
Both Gov. Spencer Cox and Payson High School students have each been working to get the actor to come back to Utah for a visit.
Last November, Cox went so far as to film a video invitation for the actor.
Hey @KevinBacon, it’s hard to believe it’s been 40 years since “Footloose” premiered. Utah’s preserved the legacy this film left on our state, so we’d like to formally invite you back to the Beehive State to celebrate four decades of “Footloose” with us, @payson_lions and… pic.twitter.com/Y7hmFQxXAR

Students from Payson High began their efforts back in May of 2023.
The students asked Bacon to attend their prom this year. Payson High was used as a set during the filming of ‘Footloose.’ The school is set to be torn down and students want Bacon to visit one last time.
