House fire starts in Taylorsville from barbecue grill

TAYLORSVILLE — On Friday afternoon, a house fire broke out in Taylorsville due to a barbecue grill.
In a post on X, Unified Fire Authority said crews were dispatched at approximately 3:30 p.m. and arrived to find fire and smoke coming from the back of the house. The fire then spread to the attic.
The residents got out safely, and two were treated for minor injuries. Two cats are still unaccounted for.
The residents will be temporarily displaced.
Unified Fire also cautioned to be mindful when outdoor cooking, never leave a grill unattended and always have water at the ready.
