Layoff process underway at Ogden IRS, according to email obtained by KSL

SALT LAKE CITY — The layoff process is underway at the Ogden Internal Revenue Service, according to an email obtained by KSL.
An email from the “IRS Human Capital Officer” was sent to all IRS employees and said the reduction in force is already in the works and “will result in staffing cuts across multiple offices and job categories.”
The letter said that the process started Friday with the agency’s Office of Civil Rights and Compliance, previously the DEI office at the IRS.
As to what and who is next, that’s less clear based on the email.
It instructs IRS workers to upload their resumes before April 14, the day before tax day, so the Human Capital Office can evaluate qualifications as part of the reduction in force.
The email promised more information next week on voluntary early retirement or separation.
