SALT LAKE CITY — Ogden City Police announced on Saturday that a 16-year-old was taken into custody for the shooting and death of a Ben Lomond High School student.
Police said Isaias Emanuel Carranza was arrested early Saturday after being accused of shooting and killing 16-year-old Mason Caballero on Tuesday.
On Friday, the Ogden Police Department announced that they were searching for Carranza after he was identified by police as a suspect.
An indictment stated Carranza is being accused of felony aggravated murder, two counts of felony attempted murder, 25 counts of felony discharge of a firearm and possession of a weapon by a minor. It was also determined that Carranza would be charged as an adult in the crime.
Editor’s note: KSL would not normally identify a juvenile suspect, but is doing so in this instance because the suspect is being charged as an adult.
