SALT LAKE CITY — A public records panel has just doubled down and ruled that the office of Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes must turn over his calendar to KSL.

The Utah Attorney General’s office has fought to keep his schedule secret, even after a judge ruled that he had to turn them over to the media.

At issue is a battle over public records that began in November, 2022. At that time the AG’s office denied a request from KSL, made through Utah’s open records law. KSL wanted to see a copy of Reyes’ work calendar.

“When he is doing the work of a public official, the public should be able to see what that work is,” said KSL News Director Leona Wood. In 2023, the Utah State Records Committee agreed although they did allow Reyes to redact certain addresses and information about personal appointments.

The Utah Attorney General’s office appealed that decision.

This story is breaking and will be updated.
