Motorcyclist dead after fatal crash in South Jordan involving multiple vehicles, police say

SALT LAKE CITY — A motorcyclist is dead after a crash involving multiple vehicles in South Jordan Wednesday night.
According to Master Officer Shaun Becker with the South Jordan Police Department, two motorcycles were heading eastbound on 11400 South. Witnesses said they saw the motorcycles traveling at high speeds.
One of the motorcycles collided with a car that was turning left on Temple Drive. The motorcyclist, an 18-year-old male, was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The other motorcyclist was not seriously injured.
On Friday, the department said it would recommend to the District Attorney’s Office that a second motorcyclist be charged with exhibition of speed, according to Master Officer Shaun Becker with the SJPD. The department said it would also recommend that the investigation be “screened for charges.”
The second motorcyclist involved was not arrested, and all charges were pending at the time of publication.
Police are investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
A KSL employee was driving the car and was not hurt.
