Utah CEO killed in Idaho helicopter crash

SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah CEO died in a helicopter crash in Idaho on Thursday.

The coroner confirmed to East Idaho News that the man who died in the crash was 59-year-old Bradford Brown, the CEO and founder of ATL Technology in Springville.

Idaho officials said Brown appeared to be the pilot. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office said a passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The helicopter crashed into a frozen reservoir near Ririe, Idaho Thursday around 4 p.m.

“Brad Brown, a true captain of industry and a pillar of the medical device community, not only in Utah, but worldwide, exemplified the spirit of an entrepreneur founding ATL Technology in 1993 and building it to a worldwide operation manufacturing products for nine of the top 10 medical device manufacturers across the globe,” said Kelvyn Cullimore, president & CEO of BioUtah.

Brown was a board member of BioUtah, according to the company’s Facebook post.

The Federal Aviation Administration said it and the National Transportation Safety Board would lead an investigation into the crash.
