SALT LAKE CITY — A woman was hit and killed in a crosswalk in Price on Wednesday evening, police announced the following day.
The Price Police Department said 64-year-old Linda Garvin was crossing the street at 500 N. 300 East just after 7 p.m. when she was hit. She was taken to Castleview Hospital, where she died.
Police said the driver who hit the pedestrian was a juvenile boy — he stayed on scene and was cooperating with police.
Garvin was a 4th-grade teacher at Castle Heights Elementary. The police department said the woman was attending a work Christmas party, and she was with several co-workers and friends when she was hit. It was not announced if anybody else was hurt.
The department did not release the name of the driver, and authorities said an investigation was ongoing.
