SALT LAKE CITY — The National Park Service announced Friday a construction project at Dinosaur National Park that will begin at the end of the month.
The NPS says the project will improve the heating and cooling system at the Quarry Visitor Center within Dinosaur National Park. It is expected to cost $577,000, and the project will begin on Oct. 30.
The visitor center will close on Oct. 23 as staff moves into a temporary facility in the parking lot.
The Quarry Visitor Center will remain closed during the construction project. However, services will be provided to visitors in the temporary facility beginning on Oct. 28. The project is expected to be finished in March 2024.
The NPS says the Quarry Exhibit Hall and access to the dinosaur fossils will not be impacted by the project.
The National Park Service Repair/Rehabilitation Fund is providing the funding for the project.
