EV charging is lacking in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY — More electric cars are selling in Utah, but homes are having a hard time keeping up. Of the 2,000 homes currently listed in Salt Lake City, only about 1.6% of the listings are EV friendly.

That makes homes with electric vehicle chargers a hot commodity in Salt Lake City.
Realtor.com says homes with the chargers could go for a higher resale value, as more EVs are sold across the state. In the first three quarters of last year, Utahns bought nearly 8,000 EVS, according to the state tax commission.
The chargers are much more common in new homes, but many Utah homes are old. The median year in which Salt Lake City’s 90,000 homes were built is 1960.
Salt Lake City itself has over 400 public chargers, half of which are free.
Other metros and states are dealing with the same issue, and Realtor.com describes only .9% of US homes as EV friendly.
