Man killed in hit-and-run crash on Redwood Road

SALT LAKE  CITY — A 59-year-old man riding a bike was killed in a hit-and-run crash this morning.

The Salt Lake City Police Department said a community member reported a crash involving a bicyclist near Redwood Road and Indiana Avenue.

Officers found the cyclist in critical condition and tried to save his life but the man died on the scene.

Police said the driver did not stop after hitting the man.

They are asking community members living along Redwood Road from Indiana Avenue to 500 South for any information or home security footage that could help them in their investigation. Community members should call 801-799-3000 and ask to speak with an officer.

This crash marks the 10^th traffic-related fatality in Salt Lake City for 2023.
