Arrest made in weekend Millcreek road rage incident

MILLCREEK, Utah — Police have made an arrest in a Millcreek road rage incident that happened on Sept. 21.
According to Unified Police Sgt. Aymee Race, an officer unknowingly pulled the victim over for a routine traffic stop just after another driver followed them. The victim told police they were trying to get away.
“The driver was very frantic and had relayed to our officer that they had just been shot at,” said Sgt. Race.
Police located and arrested the suspect, 33-year-old Kenneth Alfonso Richardson, on Sept. 25. They booked him on suspicion of two felonies with road rage enhancements.
The shooting happened near 45oo South and 1300 East. The victim told officers that an aggressive driver followed them through multiple intersections. Eventually, the driver tried cutting them off and fired one shot at their car.
“The vehicle had passed into a bike lane, attempted to cut off the victim, and displayed a handgun and fired a shot at the victim’s vehicle.”
Sgt. Race said police do not know what caused the man to shoot.
“No matter what it is, it never should lead to the point of pulling out a weapon and shooting it at a vehicle. There’s always people about on foot. There’s other cars around and, you know, someone’s life could have been taken.”
