HEBER, Utah — Several law enforcement agencies teamed up with U.S. postal inspectors to arrest a man suspected of receiving illegal drugs through the mail.
Postal inspectors said they intercepted suspicious packages addressed to Elijah Carrillo. Heber City Police Sergeant Joshua Weishar said that after getting a warrant, they found several different illegal drugs.
These include cocaine, LSD, MDMA, methamphetamine, ketamine, mushrooms and multiple forms of marijuana.
He said they also found six guns including two shotguns, three handguns and an AR-style rifle.
“Anytime you find drugs along with firearms, those are seized,” Weishar said. “Restricted persons are not allowed to have [either].”
The Wasatch Back Major Crimes Task Force, the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Department and the Heber City Police Department all worked on this case.
“We love working together with other agencies,” he said. “What a great experience for our major task force … [We were] able to work with a federal agency as well as K9 and local agencies to go after a unique way of receiving narcotics in our community.”
