Search continues for woman who fell into Weber River

WEBER COUNTY, Utah — Search and rescue crews continued their search Tuesday for a woman who fell into the Weber River Monday night.
The Weber County Sheriff’s Office says they were called out last night for a woman who fell into the river. Authorities haven’t said how the woman fell in. However, the woman is in her 20s.
Roughly 30 volunteers came out to the command center in the town of Uintah just below Weber Canyon in hopes of helping find the missing woman.
“We got volunteers searching the banks,” said Paul Babinsky with the Weber County Sheriff’s Office. “We got some even stepping into the water. But right now we’re still searching, still investigating.”
KSL NewsRadio caught up with her family just up the road. Her mom says she was not a reckless person.
She said her daughter was out with the dogs. The dogs were found, but her daughter was not.
Search and rescue worked until midnight last night. But then the river started moving too fast for even them.
So, they came back early this morning and have been searching in the area non-stop.
