Snowmobiler killed in accident with semi truck near Strawberry Reservoir

HEBER CITY, Utah– A snowmobiler died after being hit by a semi truck near Strawberry Reservoir. The accident happened just before just before 9 p.m. on Sunday.
According to Utah Highway Patrol, a group of four snowmobiles were attempting to cross the road near the Chicken Creek parking area. A semi truck was travelling eastbound on U.S. Highway 40 at the same time.
UHP said the initial investigation indicated that one of the snowmobiles pulled out as the semi was passing by. The snowmobile was struck, killing the driver.
The accident temporarily closed the road in both directions.
