SALT LAKE CITY — The 16 jurors who will hear the case against Lori Vallow Daybell in Arizona were selected on Tuesday.

Jury selection began Monday in Maricopa County, Arizona, for Lori Vallow Daybell’s second trial, who was charged with conspiring to kill her fourth husband, Charles Vallow.

On the second day of jury selection, East Idaho News reported that 13 men and three women were sworn in, four of whom were alternate jurors. The number of potential jurors was originally 200.

The Arizona trial comes two years after Vallow Daybell was convicted in Idaho for the deaths of her two young children and the first wife of her current husband, Chad Daybell. Vallow Daybell is serving five life sentences without the possibility of parole in Idaho.

Chad Daybell was similarly convicted for all three murders in May. He was sentenced to death.

Lori Vallow Daybell is also charged with conspiracy to commit the murder of Brandon Boudreaux, the ex-husband of Lori Vallow Daybell’s niece. He was shot at by someone in a Jeep in Arizona in 2019.

Investigators later pieced together the case, suggesting Lori Vallow Daybell had conspired with her brother, Alex Cox, to kill both her late husband, Charles Vallow, and Boudreaux.

The Arizona trial will begin with opening statements on Monday, April 7.

East Idaho News reported that the Boudreaux trial against Lori Vallow Daybell is expected to start on June 2.
