SALT LAKE CITY — An electronic construction sign near Copper Hills High School in West Jordan was vandalized to display a racial slur — a similar incident happened in Salt Lake City last year.
“That message was changed to something that was hateful, racist and . . . unwelcome in our city,” said West Jordan City spokeswoman Marie Magers.
She added that city officials were made aware of the sign Tuesday morning and immediately took action to take it down.
Magers credits the residents, who were disgusted by the message and alerted the city, for the quick removal of the racial slur vandalized into the sign.
