West Jordan Police identify suspect in fatal hit-and-run case

WEST JORDAN — Police have now released the identity of the suspect in the fatal hit-and-run accident on March 25, 2025.
The suspect is 42-year-old, Erasmo Onofre-Rodriguez. Police are still investigating and on the look-out for Erasmo.

He is a Hispanic male with multiple tattoos. One tattoo is known to say “Alejandro.”
Erasmo also goes by “Ponciano” and “Toshiro.”
West Jordan Police Department ask anyone with any information to contact 801-840-4000 and reference case WJ25-15827.
On March 25, Garrett Pace, 23, was hit by a SUV at Gardner Lane and Redwood Road while riding his motorcycle. WJPD said the driver drove off before officer arrived.
Sabino Lazaro-Javier, 46, was arrested last week as part of the investigation. Lazaro-Javier is the registered owner of the car involved in the crash. At first Lazaro-Javier falsely reported the car as stolen but later told police his co-worker was driving at the time and had called him minutes after the crash.
