STANSBURY PARK, Utah — An 8-year-old boy was critically injured Monday morning after falling from a slide at Rose Springs Elementary School.
According to Sgt. Bleazard with the Tooele County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at 10:17 a.m. Bleazard told KSL NewsRadio the boy began going down a twisty slide. However, somewhere halfway through the boy fell off.
He was unconscious and breathing, but then his breathing stopped. Recess monitors immediately responded to the scene and began life-saving measures on the victim. Eventually, the victim began breathing again.
Minutes later, first responders arrived on the scene. The boy was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
As of Monday afternoon, the boy was listed in critical but stable condition. The nature of his injuries is still being investigated, according to Bleazard.
No other people were hurt from the incident.
