Clearfield High School raises $98K for charity

CLEARFIELD, Utah — Clearfield High School raised over $98,000 during their holiday charity fundraiser. The school hosts the fundraiser every year as part of the ‘Falcons Are Fabulous’ initiative.
“FAF [Falcons Are Fabulous] is such a big part of the Clearfield High community and so is giving. Students are saving entire paychecks and donating entire paychecks,” said Cole Flinders, student body vice president.
The funds were raised in just two weeks. Student leadership visited local businesses to get donations.
Additionally, they hosted food vendor events and community nights.
Money is still trickling in, so their grand total will be even higher. Student officers presented the large check at a school assembly on Wednesday.
“It was insane. Everybody was crying. Everybody was screaming. I’ve never heard that auditorium so loud,” Flinders said.
The proceeds go to the Pioneer Adult Rehab Center, an organization that helps people with special needs find jobs.
Students and community members were shocked to see that they had raised so much more than last year. Their 2022 total was about $82,000.
“Clearfield High School is one of the lower income schools in Davis School District. And yet every single year, our number and the amount of money we raise goes up,” said Flinders.
